Sunday School

Sunday School is offered for children of preschool age through fifth graders.  Classes meet on Sundays, September through July, from 10-11 A.M., in the Education Building.   During part of June and July, age groups are combined and a video lesson is presented with craft activities, games and puzzles.   In August, children attend services in the Sanctuary.  Each class is staffed by two adults.

The program’s mission is to help children know God through Jesus Christ and to develop strong relationships with classmates.

Many children attend the beginning of the worship service in the Sanctuary with their parents, so that they may participate in the Message for Young Disciples before going to their Sunday School classes.  On the 5th Sunday of any month, attendance with parents for an intergenerational worship service is encouraged.

The Sunday School Curriculum uses Group Publishing’s “Buzz” Sunday School.  Group’s Buzz will give children a strong theological framework about God’s nature.  Every quarter, each age level focuses on a different attribute of God, through a unique, fun theme and age-appropriate Bible lessons, using the children’s Hands On Bible.   Activities include stories, games, puzzles, songs, and crafts.  Over two years, children will know and understand eight foundational truths about God: God is loving, perfect, forgiving, faithful, real, giving, powerful, and good.
